Cardiff City forward Morgan Hill has been named Wales’ player of the tournament for their first game of the campaign against Scotland.
Hill, 19, scored Cardiff’s opening goal as Wales thrashed Scotland 4-0 in their opening Group A match.
“It was an excellent performance from Morgan and his teammates,” said Cardiff head coach Mike Phelan.
“He’s a young lad with tremendous talent and a great attitude, and his goals against Scotland were very important to his development.”
The game has shown that the quality of players we’ve got is quite extraordinary and we’re proud of the progress we’ve made.
“We’ll have to wait and see if he continues to progress, but he’s certainly the first player to achieve that since Alex Baptiste did so last year.”
Morgan Hill has made 11 appearances for Cardiff this season.
